Zero Tolerance for Ragging
Ragging is a criminal offence. KBCP maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy. Any student found guilty of ragging shall face severe disciplinary action including expulsion.
What Constitutes Ragging?
Any conduct by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
Rowdy or undisciplined activities that cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm, or raise fear in any student.
Asking any student to do something they would not ordinarily do, causing shame, torment or embarrassment.
Any act by a senior that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student.
Exploiting the services of a fresher for completing academic tasks assigned to others.
Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher by students.
Any act of physical abuse including sexual abuse, stripping, or causing bodily harm or danger to health.
Abuse by spoken words, emails, posts, or public insults that cause discomfiture to a fresher or other student.
Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher, with or without intent.
Punishments for Ragging
Cancellation of admission
Suspension from attending classes
Withholding / withdrawing scholarship and other benefits
Debarring from appearing in any test or examination
Withholding results
Debarring from representing the institution in events or tournaments
Suspension or expulsion from the hostel
Expulsion from the institution and debarring from admission to any other institution
Every single incident of ragging — an FIR must be filed without exception with local police authorities.
